JUDGES SET TO CRITIQUE THIS YEAR’S LAKES REGION PARADE OF HOMES!
In preparation for the annual Parade of Homes being held this Columbus Day Weekend, Oct. 7-9th. The Lakes
Region Builders and Remodelers Association announces their distinguished three panel of judges. Eleven
beautiful homes are on the tour this year for the judges to evaluate in the towns of Laconia, Meredith, Center
Harbor, Moultonborough, Wolfeboro, Ashland and Hebron. The judges are brought in to look closer at the
home builder’s projects — evaluating them on craftsmanship, creative use of space, use of materials, overall
design, interior design and more.

The highest number of points in each category will determine the winners in that category and then all the
points will be tallied to determine the coveted, Best In Class.

MEET THE JUDGES:

Lynette Rodgers

Lynette Rodgers, president of NH Home Builders Association (NHHBA) and owner of Homescapes of New England, LLC an exterior remodeling business focusing on the installation of James Hardie fiber-cement siding.

You could say building is in Lynette’s blood with architects, general contractors, electricians, interior designers and tile setters in her family. She has served as President & Vice President of Southern NH Homebuilders and Remodelers Association for two years, and has been a board member for the past six years. She is Secretary of BuildersCare NH Foundation for three years and chair of the Hammers for Veterans program, which serves disabled veterans and veterans who can't afford construction related services to their homes.  The program has completed over 15 projects over the past 2.5 years. She sees the building industry as a catalyst for
creating community and is passionate about its role in education, quality building practices and giving back.

Matthew Towle, Building Construction Instructor at Lakes Region’s Huot Technical Center.

Matt has found himself a unique niche in the industry. He can utilize his teacher training and experience as well as his time as a restoration carpenter to help get the area’s juniors and seniors energized about being a future tradesperson. Recently, one of his carpentry students competed at the SkillsUSA National Competition Championships and his students built a Tiny House in partnership with his local Lakes Region Home Builder’s Association Chapter and the NH Lottery. Because of the many stakeholders in the program, Matt has recently seen an increase in the hiring of his program completers. Matt currently resides in Center Harbor with his wife
and two sons, ski coaches, camps frequently with family and friends, and plans to continue to help grow the construction industry.

Chris Clymer

Chris Clymer, a licensed Home Inspector and owner of Assured Home Inspections in Meredith.

Chris’s educational background is in architecture.  He received both undergrad and graduate architecture degrees at Norwich University. Prior to home inspections, Chris was an architect and residential designer.  He started his own residential design/build firm in 2003 (Archi/structure) where he was lead designer and contractor.  During that time Chris and his company designed and built many homes in around the lakes
region.  Chris continues to practice residential design today. He has been a resident of the Lakes Region since 1982.  When not inspecting and designing houses, Chris enjoys the outdoors; playing where he works.  The awards of excellence winners will be announced after the Parade of Homes event and also recognized at a ceremony later this month. The 3-panel of judges does not effect the popular “People’s Choice Award” which will remain the same as it does every year. This is where the winner is determined by the visitors! Visitors have no special criteria to judge on but to pick the home that resonates as the best out of all the homes. In order to vote, people must get their ticket initialed at each home. Then they fill out the back with their favorite house number. After they have visited their last home they drop their ticket in the People’s Choice box. All eligible entries go into a drawing for prizes.
